“As a Black woman know that our lives are our legacies.” as
Queen,
As one Black woman to another I have a few questions for you and some thoughts:
Have you been feeling like there is something more to do, to live, to experience in your life? Is it your opinion that while you have accomplished so much there is something more to do...something vital, something sacred even?
I’ve certainly felt that way and did for a long time. And as I’ve come into my own by mothering children, furthering my career; through experiencing financial discomfort and comfort, experiencing the love of my life, and by creating for self experiences that I once could only dream of, I was still feeling like there is something more...
And as the Universe is good and the Creator is Great I’ve been physically, mentally, and emotionally moved by way of some significant life experiences - divorce, death, relocation, etc. - that helped me to understand more about my reason for being. And, a particular health challenge made me know that I HAD to care for myself differently-that if I didn’t put my self care first I might not continue to exist - literally - in this time and space.
Re[3] A Wellness Space was born of necessity. It was no longer an option to not put self care first, and practice that care for self from the inside out. Also, it was imperative that I have opportunities to carry out those sacred practices with other Black women in safe spaces.
Black Lives Matter, and a Black women's intentional self care is an imperative.
This Universe requires our divine, unique energies and our Ancestors require our participation in the what can be a joyous life. By implementing sacred self care practices we can, as sister Audre Lorde implored, commit 'necessary' acts of “political warfare”. That way we may consistently get into "good trouble" as our brother-in-the-struggle, Congressman John Lewis encouraged.
Queen, I want to assist you on your journey to fulfilling your unique life’s purpose: Be All that you are - Re[3]!
I look forward to a light-filled connection.
